high latency ( ping also)games

hello i know this great site for almost a year and i know its great offers ,however


i bought a new usb modem (huwaei e220) 4 months ago and its realy fast but

i have noticed that all online game run at a high ping i googled and i found similar topics but without a conclusion , so i hope you will find me 1 , thanx any way.

connection speed : up to 7.2 mgps.
ping while playing in average : 250 to 300.
pc hardwares:3.4 dual core\win xp 32bit & vista 64bit \ geforce 8800gt xfx alpha dog\and finally 3 Gh ddr2 ram.
my settings:DSN---->dynamic
proxy--->dynamic
Authentication protocol----->CHAP
WINS settings----->dynamic

Depends if you're uploading/downloading anything on your home computer as well. Also honestly, I wouldn't recommend any other router beside from the Linksys WRT54G. It also could be the fact that you're using it out of your USB port.

First of all thanx much for replying me.

E220 is a wireless connection.

and i checked my connection status and i didnt download or upload any thing all of 3 Mpbs speed just to run one app (steam) .

also i made a connection test at
www.speedtest.net

and i got good results except for the ping rate (it was 150-170) thats weird since i choosed the nearest server available (actually less than 7 km far )
maybe my usb device is malfunctioning by the way i tried to plug it to different usb ports but nothing happens.

its really weird i have 1 mg/sec of downloading speed.

i found that satellite connections are bad choice for online games because it doesnt send many packets but mine is different .

dude just get a router(Belkin). and never use USB for internet, because ur internet will be very slow, always use enternet port
