Paintown/Mugen Question

First off before I even get to my question, I just want to share my appreciation to everybody who has and is working on this project. I haven't put it on my ps3 yet to play it, but I've played Mugen briefly in the past and was excited at the idea of being able to put it on the playstation. Everything I've seen looks great.

My question is, does anybody know if there will come a time where it will be easy to convert characters from the other variations of Mugen easily over to paintown's mugen? I love the idea of a fighting game on my ps3 that I can play with my friends with a roster of over a 1000 characters but I also recognize the ridiculous amount of work that would go into trying to rebuild all these characters for Paintown, so I guess I'm just wondering if based on paintown and the original mugen is written if there would ever be something to easily convert characters from one version over to the other?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, forgive my ignorance.

I think I just made the assumption since every video I see of MUGEN on ps3 has a small character roster vs the seemingly endless list of available characters on MUGEN. I've been away on vacation for the last couple weeks but now that I'm back I guess I'll have to test it out. Thanks for getting back to me, lol I'll feel really foolish if the majority of mugen characters work fine, either way I'll post back once I've checked in the event somebody else has the same question. :D

Alright so after getting a resigned eboot and getting this operational I tried loading in some characters from other mugen games. They did appear in the character selection screen but once the game started, to say it slowed to a crawl would be an understatement, once the fight started it never got caught up, the sounds of the fight were playing, but it just had my 2 characters standing on screen, nothing happening...so I'm going to make the assumption this isn't yet ready to go with the large selection of available mugen characters out there, and probably just the ones created by people specifically for paintown/mugen.

I see this is as I had feared and reason why I have not tried tinkering with it...mystifies me as the ps3 should be more than capable as an XBOX pretty much did fine with much lower specs and ram while running a linux distro as well...

my friend looch no one cares...

I beseeched those the Electrobyte forums (they returned imagine that) but i was pretty much flamed out of existence...it is a very frustrating thing...alas paintown smooth as butta but mugen mode is not...no source code so no recourse...there is xna openmugen on 360 but i have been unsuccessful there as well...
