I mean, Devolution is cool and everything, and the code is without doubt more interesting than DIOS MIOS, but wtf is with the re-drm and closed code base. Unless he's trying to get hired by nintendo (or is already hired, and is engaging with homebrew community as beta testers) to implement official Wii-U GC loading, i don't really understand it.

As a result, I end up using DIOS MIOS on my launch wii, so all in all not that big a deal.

Good luck playing any game perfectly, that requires audio streaming, with DM.

Tueidj only made Devo as a project for himself. He then shared it with the community. He devised it and made it, he implemented verification to prevent out-and-out-piracy.. he can do WTF he wants with it IIRC he didn't even plan to release it until lots of people caught wind of it and hassled him to do so.

He cleverly dodges a nintendo flavored bullet by implementing disc validation.

DM is a more satisfactory solution for all you pirates, but devolution is a better solution for those who wish to preserve their discs and enjoy their legally owned GC games on Wii and WiiU (when/if its released), with higher compatibility due to steaming support.

Not everything is about piracy.

I have no doubt Crediar will figure out audio streaming in future, but DM wont survive the transition to WiiU.

Here's a twitter comment by Marcan that I found interesting.

Indio ‏@elissonandrade 12 May @marcan42 if wii cpu is just a gamecube cpu enhanced and wiiu is something like wii cpux3, u think its possible to run gc games by homebrew?
Expand

Héctor Martín ‏@marcan42 13 May
@elissonandrade it should already be possible in wii mode with the appropriate patches for input.

Very interesting, just hope maxternal can get 3 core vWii unlocked first to enhance vWii HB, then some form of exploit (from there?) for WiiU would allow a full HBC on WiiU, and then GC games (minus MIOS obv) could be patched for WiiU mode HB, or a WiiU emulated MIOS could enable GC games to run..... We already know Tueidj has somehow run devo on WiiU....
