The iso for x3key are crypted, so they only play with there tool.
the source for encrypting the iso are in there too.

That's exactly what 3k3y is though, developing that kind of thing is monster work and nobody has bothered so far for the Xbox 360 and that is far more "known" than the PS3 and emulating a standard DVD drive where the firmware has been interpreted about 6 years ago. Admittedly there's been new firmware since but it's all standard PC-DVD type 8 bit code as used on any "normal" DVD PC drive.

The DVD-ROM emulators on the Xbox 360 have been around for about 3 years now, it's very unlikely a home made effort would be feasible for the PS3, my real opinion would be "not a hope in hell!". But that sounds a bit arrogant Just my thoughts, I'm not clued up on this of course.
