There is a flaw in the pkg validation system

You can run plain elfs using 1.60+

More research needs to be done...

If they got that far, they would already have a exploit for it (or if they identified exactly where there was a hole). I just think its some schmo who bluffs.

That's not true -- you cant exploit all vulnerabilities.

Placca also stated that he thinks he can decrypt the pkg compressed file.
So this is believable

It was one of the major PSP hackers who shared this info with me about 2 months ago (IRC), but nothings come of it so I thought I'd share

Maybe this will point you in the right direction.

if it was a few months ago it would most likely have been made public by now, so this is less likely.
