PS3 BD-J Homebrew working through BD-R
Got a few BluRay discs to burn (literally)? Well the hackers over at Demonhades have figured out that you can still run BD-J homebrew via BD-R on any PS3 firmware.
Translation from Demonhades post: It appears that recording to any homebrew BD-R BD-Java, this can be run from any console from any firm. To make it work implements have to record the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders in the root of the disk. PS3 to get it into the menu of [Video] we will bear in our BD and homebrew. I leave you a video: From here it follows that only banned the BD-Java and the USB reader targetas Letor BD but no ban.[VIA] Thanks SCE for news tip. |

I thought it was common knowledge that BD-J could be run off BD-R discs, BD-J was designed to be run of Blu Ray discs, so there was no reason for anyone to think that it wouldnt run on BD-R. Also to think that BD-J would get banned from BD-R, is the same as thinking that Swap Magic will get banned >.< Last edited by GregoryRasputin; 09-03-2009 at 06:24 AM. |

I've read here and on other forums of people using the CD version of swap magic on older firmware. So, what are you talking about "never intended to work this way"?

And I think he means that PS2 b/c wasn't made for Swap Magic so b/c won't get fully banned for one disc, and banning Crazy Taxi (the game SM is based) would be a dumb dumb move...

![]() ![]() It's a ps2 format disc, that used to be compatible on older firmware (can someone confirm this?), that is no longer compatible. Also, if the DVD version of swap magic is Crazy Taxi, then what game is the CD version based on? .. either the people who posted that the CD version is bootable are full of sh*t, or it simply doesn't work on Model #CECHE01, or it was "banned" in a firmware update?? bleh I don't even care anymore

I dont remember the CD version ever working, there are several posts about it not working, though as i said before, this thread is not about Swap Magic, there is IRC if you want to continue the discussion. |
