JTag Question: Drive Key Recovery?
I am an owner of 2 "semi" broken XBox 360 Elite consoles.
I admit, I am the sole architect of their destruction, but it was all in good intentions. One of them I "flashed" the drive wrong and lost the "drive key", thus turning it into a DVD player. The second I successfully "flashed", but was stupid enough to use XBox Live, and it got banned. Other than that it still works, albeit limited functionality from the "ban". Shortly after the "ban", I started researching if there was any way to modify the machine to allow me to use the Install function and other "removed" features, but the only way I found was to use a mod chip and some pretty advance methods. Most of witch are out of my capabilities, not through skill, I'm more than capable of that kind of thing, I just don't own the relevant equipment. But recently I learned of "JTag" and the fact it can do what I want, and more, the only problem is my "working" Elite was updated, and thus incapable of reciving the modifications of JTag. But my drive-less console is a lower version, and according to online forums/guides IS capable of the modification. The only issue I have is the console has no DVD drive key, so cannot read game discs. My question is a simple one; can JTag be used to restore the DVD drive to read game discs? If it can, I'm tempted to attempt to put JTag on my older Elite, if not it's second hand console time, again. (as I was writing this I remembered I don't know what motherboard it is. It was one of the early Elites, arround the time Bioshock was released; August 2007-ish) |
