Im not sure this will work with Ubuntu, it is built to run with YDL, if it does work on Ubuntu, you didnt need to reformat your HDD, you can install PS3 Ubuntu on an external HDD. |

I couldn't get .zip to work that way. It gave me an error when I tried to change it to .zip after save archive copy. I got this to work though. Have WinRar ver 3.93
Select all your roms in a folder Right click on one of them choose "add to archive" On the general tab choose "Archive format" ZIP Go to the Files tab Check the box for "Put each file to separate archive" this will make a zip of each of the roms in the same folder with them drag thoes zip files to a thumb drive and copy to the nes folder |

Looks like it is yeah, but only to the username, as i did a full restore of my ps3, it didn't effect my games. Its not PSN connected. Im not sure on PSN connected games, but for some it would normally load up and say "you can play this game, but not save" i know for a fact that using GOW collections, the error comes up before you load the save. Also SEGA: Megadrive Collections, wont allow you to play unless you have the correct user. (which is an annoyance i wish they left out tbh)

@Rasputin: i didnt want to use an external, as only have one, to use for backups and stuff.
@Pyscho: I'll check with the FFXIII save, by making another account with a different name, to be sure. Im installing Ubuntu now so god damn slow V_V...14%, as thats the distro i normally use on my mac. But finding out your proggie doesnt work..on it.hmm oh well >< n/m I'll just use Linux for what i intended to use it for, which was to make a dump of my games. :D Perhaps some day we will be able to use your software on the gameOS side eh? hehe.. |

That my friend is complete BS.. the original xbox can't play anything in 1080p, it can only upconvert some stuff to 720p/1080i.. So if you actually see 1080p on your TV, it's your TV that's upscaling the signal... please don't talk more of that nonsense here...

If I get time later on today, I'll take a proper look at this, A) to see if I can get it to run on Ubuntu via an external hdd (as my ext hdd is already set up to run PSUbuntu) B) if that then fails I'll take a look at installing YDL 6.2 on the ext drive, without formatting my ps3's hdd and then run the zerogame project on that to see how well it performs.

You don't have to format your hard drive. When I upgraded my hard drive to 320, I had the 60 as a spare so I can just swap the hard drives if I want to run Linux.

kind of hassle swapping them in and out. I dont know why Sony just didnt allow full Linux access like it is on desktops. Would be so much easier to use
shame they had to ruin it. Perhaps we will find a way to break down the barrier between OtherOS & GameOS... and make it all into one sweet homebrew package : D Ah full on linux access, there will be a day when we can use it without the use of geohots hack.. *sighs... someday* |
