Anand Lal Shimpi from AnandTech, just recently got a new shiny slim Xbox 360, most of us would be delighted and sit down and play the machine, but not Anand, he ripped his apart, for our pleasure/enjoyment/curiosity, here is a quote from his site, followed by a selection of the images.

The took the LED ring off the front, so users can't call it RROD....
That solved it (and saved a few quid). Honestly, I don't know why gamers still bother with Xbox. It's unreliable, noisy, costly, proprietary, and the PS3 totally spanks it in Blu-Ray, DVD and game exclusives... |

The ps3 has its own problems, firstly the ylod, fw updates that appear to kill consoles, and a marketting team that seem to only want to p*** off they're customers by removing features.
I honestly believe m$ may have made a mistake by using xclamps again, but its still not as big a mistake as $ony, and they're failure to listen to they're customers. |

Lite-on
From the looks, it is the same to the lite-on's found in the current 360's.
I still don't want to get a slim, 360's are dying, I love my PS3, and the only games that I would get for a 360 is Halo and Gears of War.

is it me, or on the photos, is the fan..facing backwards... sucking out the heat instead of blowing on it??? anyways i have a feeling that fan is going to be loud, because the fan was made evenly..like on some cars and a/c units, the one of the fins on the fan is slanted or made unevenly to reduce noise, it doesn't reduce its cooling, it just reduces the noise...looks like this is gonna be a loud console...oh well
they have a fan ontop of the processor/gpu, unlike the older 360

you want the fan sucking heat off it not blowing on it as that would keep hot air in the system, as for the noise factor it is not that loud at all, the first 360 was very loud but sense the jasper board came out they have gotten quieter and this one makes less noise then the jaspers, microsoft finally got it right, although they still don't let you use ur own hdd :thefinger:
