From the FAQ: "Does a game disc have to be inserted to play backups?
Yes. Any retail disc inserted in the drive will aid compatibility when launching backups from a hard drive."

Does that mean that if I backup a game, regardless of internally or externally, I must stick in that same game into the disc drive? Or must I have ANY disc in the drive (similar to pre 3.90m33 for the psp's, when you had to have a UMD disc in the drive in order to play your backups)?

Thanks all, and hopefully I can make the quantum jump from just having OPL, Snes9x and PGen on the ps3, with all the knowledge I will gain from here.

Awesome forum and I see a lot has happened in a short time. I have 1 questions.

Once the ps3 has been booted with the dongle can the dongle be unplugged until the next time you reboot the ps3?

you can unplug the dongle it well still work but you have to plug it back in when you reset the system

I have played almost 20 games on my PS3 with Guitar Hero 3 in it. Yes, you just have to have 1 original PS3 game in the disk drive to make it work.

Thank you thank you! I have a few originals laying around :P. Which dongle/method do you recommend for an easy install? Also, do you know if jailbreaking the ps3 takes away the ability to run swapmagic? Or are they exclusive of one another?

Hey guys... its been a while since anyones posted on here but as i'm a newbie i thought i'd ask here... is it still possible to purchase a PSJB for the ps3 as i've heard rumours that people that initially purchased the dongles from reliable sources ended up having there money refunded due to various court cases going on in Austrailia.. I was wondering if people are still buying these dongles today?
