RichDevX: PSGroove coming to LOWER PS3 FW
RichDevX has just announced over on his twitter account that he has been successful in executing lv2 privileged code on a ps3 debugging station. What that means is that he will be able to port psgroove to any PS3 FW versions that are pre 3.42. So pretty soon you wont have to update your PS3'S to version 3.41 to be able to run the exploit.

I couldnt wait for this, I just updated from 3.15 to 3.41 like 3 days ago.... o well, I was only hanging on to OtherOS incase there was a hack that required it. Great work though, still wish I could contribute.

I have the PS3 slim so...this is kinda useless for me.. :musicus: waiting on custom firmware so I can run linux. Well done though.

Interesting, this might make us understand how to port the exploit to 3.42 or build a 3.42 tha is very based on 3.41 modules injected to 3.42.
I wouldnt want to stay on 3.15 - in stead we need to understand how to code our own OS loader for Linux on PS3 - also for slim PS3s. Things are on the move... ************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************

could this result in a localized exploit?
Could this mean a different kind of exploit that could be loaded on the ps3 so you don't have to have an avr board plugged in all the time? I'd really like be be like an outlaw ice-cream guy (with a cooler truck tho) "step right up! put yer ps3 on the table, this will only take a moment - while you're waiting please look through this giant binder of games..."
