Is backup manager 1.1 available yet.
It is amazing how quick this has developed.
I am waiting for the PSP port. Please hurry, I purchased a 2 TB external drive around Christmas and haven't updated my PS3 since the Memory Dumps began.

We could dump the firmware then copy the ps2 emulator... or is it stored somewhere else? Also I think the PS Jailbreak site is down, it says the domain's avaliable!

The ps2 games on the 60GB version aren't emulated. On those PS3s there was an chip taken from the ps2 which was responsible for playing ps1 and 2 games.
In order to make the Ps3 cheaper they kicked out this chip.

that's for US versions of the PS3, the EU 60GB (and first 80GB US versions) does have partial emulation through software, but still 1 chip.
But with complete access to the RSX and an opensource PS2 emulator already floating around for the PC, it should be possible to get it running on the PS3...

The ChipSpain statements look rather misleading. Doesn't XMBC need OtherOS and linux installed before it'll work on the PS3, so that would be FW 3.15 or lower? And what do they mean by "Reproduction of video formats such as MKV"? Are they claiming playback or simple file copying?

Can games backed up to the internal ps3 drive be transferred to the external drive? Or would you have to re-backup the game and specify a different location..? I'm trying to put off buying another terabyte as long as possible.

Now that they have NFTS support,maybe they will find a way for the ps3 to accept 3.5 inch externel HDD.
Offcourse without opening the ps3.

it says blu-ray. is it the blu-ray game img/iso that is possible to load for the external drive or is it movies only ?

Why do you say hardly any PS3 games? I just tried Valkyria Chronicles so far and it worked flawlessly. I've seen videos of others. It seems that it works just fine for a large number of PS3 games, doesn't it?

i dont believe many of these claims, if any!

they failed to deliver the product yet so how can they do all this??

anyway, i kept my order with them as i cant be bothered going throught he hassle of finding the alternative hardware to build my own, and if any are true, then so much the better!!
