If i remember correctly, ps3 uses something similair to the 360's efuses so downgrading most likely wont be possible.

Yeah your most likely right. It only took 4 years to find this hole so a new exploit should be comming any day now.

Awesome!! Keep up the good work. Ironically, I know the individual who basically hack proofed the ps3.

What gets me is, why does it *only work on 3.41* ? Im sure the other kernels (KFC Anybody? XD)had this vulnerability too.. unless its specific glitch in the system that only occurred in 3.41...

@Gliitch, that's a very good point. It kinda makes you wonder if someone tipped off the makers of the original JB. Because it currently only works (Though I thought I saw mention somewhere it was working or will eventually work on pre-3.41) on 3.41, I ask myself how much of the official Sony PS3 dongle was actually used. A Sony PS3 Dongle should be universal, not tied to a specific firmware as is the JB exploit; meaning to me, the PS3 Dongle was not at all reversed, and it was only used to explore the system for vulnerabilities, -or- someone at Sony tipped them off.And over at ps3gen.fr (Sorry to reference another site, hope that's ok!) There was claims by JB that it's compatible with 3.42. Whether it's an update or a universal exploit (Or even if that's actually true) I don't know; but they do seem to be staying head of Sony if that claim on that site which was a quote by JB, is true. Kinda makes you wonder.

Everytime $ony add/remove features and release new firmware they take the risk of closing/opening holes. This was probably a hole they opened that wasnt in earlier firmware versions.
