Apploader Payload by AerialX
This payload makes use of the /app_home/PS3_GAME menu item. You may place an application on a USB drive under the PS3_GAME folder to run it without installing a package. Note that simply extracting a .pkg onto the USB drive is not quite enough for a program to run. EBOOT.BIN must be slightly modified to boot properly. Aerial's Github Aerial's Twitter |

This is nice, I'd prefer to run some things like the backup manager directly from my hard drive or a thumb drive, if that is possible.

so... could we theoretically have an apploader for ps3 ftp server instead of a pkg file. cuz if we could, would it be possible to view the 3.42 update on the root dev_0 console thru a networked pc and just delete it or replace it with 3.41. i have no working knowledge of coding or the IQ required to fool with hex or any of that. im just thinking aloud.

So am i thinking this right, if its possible to run the backup manager directly from a usb drive without needing to install to console first and run backups via external, it should be pretty hard to detect by sony that you are indeed running a bootleg backup, therefor being console/psn banned not very likely?

If thats the case and a log is saved (locally rather than on sony servers) surely its a simple case of finding where its stored and scrubbing it after use?

I see what you guys above are saying but I think PSN checks whatever you run when you run it wile being online.. Anyway about the topic.. I'm confused about what this is saying? Is saying we can install apps without the jailbreak step?
