I was replying to that person's post. He thought that there was supposed to be Move support. I explained that it hasn't been patched in yet.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Copy the EBOOT.BIN from the patch to the PS3GAME/USRDIR...

I think the update installs game files to the HDD $ checks the Game Eboot & when it see's the Eboot is unpacked it repack's it so then copying back the unpacked lets the game run I think the eboot installin the updated files to other game files. to find out for sure you need to check all the files size's before the update then check them when done file.
P.S. I heard when some eboot's are copy to the ps3 v usb the ps3 unpack's them. if its like this then we can try takein PSN domo's & send one to the ps3 v usb it unpack it then add a file in the game and repack it.heres how some game domo's got updates for them. Using this method shouldn't it be possible to get the PSN retail versions of games to run? For example install the retail PSN version of GT5 or Burnout Paradise and then replace the EBOOT.BIN with the Blu-ray version?

I tried this method with Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain. In both, it just refused to start the game. The system locks up upon starting the game.

If you are installing updates using the original game disc, that is different than installing it form a pkg file. Installing from the disc should work. The way I have been trying to do it hasn't been working (see my above post).

In theory shouldn't we just be able to disable the internet connection on the PS3 and then the game will not be able to find an update? Most of the games I play that wont let me play unless I update I dont play online anyways. Would this work? I know Dirt 2 will not let you play without updating so couldnt I just kill the net connection and play fine? And yes I understand I cant connect to PSN but I leave the net on to stream media from my PC

Thanks man Jail-breaking is always a good thing for gamers. Testing with heavy rain works great!
