On the playstation 2 i had a cheat device called xploder and action replay max. With that device you could load a game with cheats that you've selected. It's a stupid idea maybe but maybe it will load backed up games with the playstation 3 because they are different devices and it's made for the ps2.

i have just bought XPloder Lite, for 97p from Currys in exeter, and it doesn't load at all in my ps3. it finds the disc, but when u go to load it it just goes black then goes back to the XMB, SOMETIMES, very rarely, i get the Playstation 2 loading screen, but then it goes black and reverts back to the XMB again.

dunno if the full version will make any difference, but when i saw it there for 97p i had to get it just to try it! for TRYING to load games, AND for playing ALL MEDIA types inc AVI.

I'm going to borrow a full version of xploder tomorrow from a friend of me and burn a ps2 game to try it. I will post tomorow what it does.

Maybe try to do the tif swap

I can't because i have got firmware 1.92..

But even if i could do it i dont know how because for the tif swap you have to be in XMB and with xploder you wont be in XMB.

i've tried EVERYTHING i could think of with my exploder lite disc (before i went up to 1.92)

the tiff swap trick
swapping at the Playstation 2 loading screen (when i got it)
swapping as soon as the disc started loading
swapping when i heard the disc spin down (like u do on the slim ps2)
pressing /\ and ejecting the disc, then hitting X quickly to load it and incerting a back-up.

couldnt think of anything else to try tho.
