I also want to see this movie badly! The movie trailer is really cool, and it makes me wonder why it's called 1-18-08 rather than a normal movie name.

]I don't think it's like Godzilla, I reckon it's like the black smoke out from Lost. When you see the Statue Liberty's head the supposed trail of dust does not behave like dust or rubble from the ground when an impact happens, it's as if something carries the head down then leaves. The dust or smoke looks like it moves away from the head. So my guess is that it's the black smoke monster from Lost, which is otherwise known as Jacob, I believe.

yeah i remember seeing this in the previews before transformers and they didnt give the titles. all my friends were like, "what the heck was that called?" i also saw the trailer on VH1 and they called the movie "Cloverfield" because at that time there WAS no information on it. it still looks awesome though..

there are 2 "TITLES" at the moment one is just the date "1-18-08" amd the other is "PROJECT CLOVERFIELD"



Some say it is going to be Godzilla 2, and if u look at the movie poster, or the headless Statue of Liberty, there look like claw marks that have ripped the head off!

i dunno what it is going to be, but i have just converted the trailer onto my psp and i am going to hype everyone i work with up about this now too!

@3Sixty, yeah I see what you mean, but I think that it sort of falls into to JJ Abrams' profile to try and fool the audience/fans into trying to look for obvious stuff to make their own conclusions. Looking at his other work, such as Lost, you see that his hints are very suttle. Also there is virtually no damage to the head of the Statue of Liberty (except for the fact that's it's been ripped off!). Anyway my eyes are set on the monster from Lost. My reasons for sticking with the Lost character is because he's thought out Lost so much it's unreal. For instance, in Mission Impossible 3, in the airport, the flight number from Lost is called out over the tannoy and I'm sure there's something in Alias too...ah well! There we go that's what I think.

I don't know why everyone thinks it's Godzilla. Paramount don't have the rights to do a Godzilla movie. The sound made by the 'monster' in the film does not sound like Godzilla OR T-Rex. It's something new. JJ Abrams would not do a spin off of some crappy film. It's going to be completely new.
