A noob question, is this a step towards CFW and or 3.42 game compatability?

It might be. I was just checking and I found that a file named version.txt in the pup-file has a firmware number, for example RE5 has 3.40 and NBA Elite has 3.41 and so on... Maybe if you change 3.42 in MoH to 3.41, the game might be able to run? But I'm not a hacker so I don't know, just guessing :P

I wish it were that easy, but unfortunatly they are Red Herrings put there by Sony.
The issue is that 3.42 and above firmware contains Keys that the game requests when booting. If these keys aren't supplied then the game doesn't boot. Process is being made though. |

Most likely it’s a step in the right direction of an unofficial PS3SDK, and not necessarily a CFW.

Tools like these adds to knowledge base, and is music in my ears.
After all similar to surfers, we are not looking for Waimea, but something next to our living room TV that can be as good as the Commodore 64.
