Anyone know how to bypass the "you must update your fw" thing, when launching a game? I'm on 3.15 and REFUSE to update to 3.41 if I don't have to, in order to play nba 2k11. Any help would be very much appreciated Thanks as always <3

Hey I'm having some trouble with my ps3. I cant boot up a few of my games with any manager. I tried a few games and all would give me a black screen either freezing or bringing me back to the XMB. I would load up a manager and click on the game, it would kick me to the xmb where I would then scroll to the app_home/ps3_game and it would change to the game image, but when I click on the game image - all it would give me is a black screen.

the game I tried loading is little big planet (BCUS98148)

I also tried booting from my fat32 16gig USB, I made a folder called GAMEZ in the root directory and placed BCUS98148 folder in it. loaded backup manager 2 and saw the game on the USB, but when I tried loading it, it too gave me a black screen and back to the xmb.

my ps3 is a slim 160gig, 3.41

game folder I used is ,BCUS98148, it contains the PS3_DISC.sfb, PS3_GAME, and PS3_UPDATE

I transfered the game folder (BCUS98148) from my fat32 USB to dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ on the ps3 internal hdd by using comgenies awesome file manager

I'm currently using ps3jb 0.07 on TI84+ silver edition with the options-
stage 1 payload :def341
stage 2 payload :none
use device 6: no

I tried using other payloads such as: Hermes v3, v4b, psnhermes,def341,def341k, pl341pl3r with no success. (maybe I'm doing it wrong? )

the managers I tried are gaia manager, open manager, backup manager 2, multiman
.. with no success (I still have all of them installed)

any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Not sure if I read your post correctly, but did you stick in a real ps3 disc into the drive, AFTER it kicks you back to XMB (from the the loader)? I popped in a disc, and then it shows up as a blu-ray disc logo with the game's name , and you can launch it (i.e., I'm trying to load nba 2k11 through open manager. I load it through open manager, then it kicks me back to xmb, and has nothing showed up yet. I then pop in my sf4 disc, and then it pops up, with the usual blu-ray disc icon, and instead of sf4 it's nba 2k11 (woohoo) ). The only problem I'm having, is how to bypass the fw update, cuz I don't want to update from 3.15 to 3.41...

I just tried using the disc icon to load the game with Rogero's manager after it corrected a few errors and it finally worked! thank you very much!

Yippeee!! Now, help me with my issue please. The EvilSperm file only works for 3.41, and it's supposed to "spoof" my fw to 3.50. Do you know if there's an alternative for 3.15 users?

is anybody else getting an error 80710092 when trying to download something off of the psn or is it just me? =/ and is anybody else getting kicked out of the psn as soon as you try to play a multiplayer game online?

I'm still waiting on EvilSperm to commit a change for 3.15 users. The day it comes out, you know where to find it..

I was wondering what all the payloads are? I downloaded ps3jb0.02.0001_hermes_ed_with_main_menu
for my ti84plus,and have Vidarino PL3 (3.41) 11-13-2010/EvilSperm PL3 on it but when I open psjb I dont see anything new in it? Im not understanding how to use the payloads my firmware is 3.41 and have Gaia_V1.03.1
I backed up killzone 2 and played it with NBA 2k9 in the drive without a problem, i just wanna get newer games that require newer firmware to work

look at the first post of this thread for your questions.

make sure you get:
- the latest TI-84 App: PS3JB 0.07.0001
- get the EvilSperm PL3 (for PSN enabling) payload

your Gaia Manager should be fine.

then you can play the 3.42+ games... some might require you to edit the SFO file.
