Kj guys today i just received my X3max Dongle.
As they ask the first time i flashed it with "x3MAX_Generic.bin" (this loaded perfect) Afterwards i opened a psgroove.hex made on the "PS3 Multi SDK 3.41 – 1.92Ubuntu VirtualBox – Jailbreak" from the map PSgroove-Kakaroto-17.10. Making this file went perfect and received no error. Neither after flashing my X3max Dongle with the PSGroove.hex that i earlier made. Afterwards i jailbreaked my PS3 with this dongle. And it got jailbreaked. Afterwards i installed Gaia manager v1.02. Completed the installation with succes and started the Gaia manager V1.02. Here i could see all my games on my external 500GIG HDD. I selected the MMA game and it loaded perfectly. I could see in my xmb the disc MMA. afterwards i started the game and i received an error 80010019. This error i received also with MOH. Can someone explain me what i did wrong? --- EDIT --- Or just better... Because X3max can run with different made .hex files, can somebody upload a working PSgroove + PL3 .hex file so i can run the games (MMA & MOH) Last edited by rTn; 10-27-2010 at 06:26 PM. |

I figured everything out. All the payloads i received as answer were not the right ones. I had to have the NO_AUTH payload and had to set the disk permissions...
Now i can play MOH and MMA. Thx for the help everyone |

Do you think you could provide a link to the payload you used, rTn? I'm having trouble with my x3max as well.

I also have a problem using my x3max.
I followed the instructions of x3max well, but when I put the dongle into the ps3, it says: unknown usb device. What could be gone wrong? |

It sounds like you aren't powering the ps3 up correctly. you first have to unplug it, plug it back in, then hit the power button followed immediately by the eject button. |

Thank you Stevil, I already figured that out. I had to press the eject button faster.

Hi all,
I'm having an interesting time trying to get mine to boot. I've used rTn's hermes4b and Pl3 hex builds on my 3.41FW slim. I've run the x3max programming tool on Win7/64 in both user and administrator modes to program the x3max. I'm using the v2.00 firmware on the x3max so "most tested hex should work". The switch has been flicked on the back (so it lights up red when plugged in to the pc), and the X3max tool connects to the dongle, and it programs fine apparently... but when I flick the switch on the back of the dongle, unplug the power cable from PS3, plug the power back in, hit the Ps3 on button, and then quickly tap eject -- no matter what I do, I get the red/blue flashing police lights when I boot (and 3 beeps when i tap eject). As far as I can tell, if it works, both red and blue should come on together (no flashing), and then the red should go off and blue should stay on if it has worked. I've unplugged the slim, plugged it in, powered on, waited 0.2 sec, 0.5 sec, 1 sec, 2 sec before pressing the eject button. I've tried hammering the eject button for 10 seconds. In case I'm going nuts and misread something, I tried switching the dongle back to the programming mode and plugging it into the ps3, but then I just get a red light, which never goes off and then the PS3 reports an "unknown device". I'm either doing something very basically wrong, or my X3max was DOA. The X3max instructions for the noob are pathetic, they assume a lot of prior knowledge. If anyone can offer some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* OK, I just put the dongle in another PC, repeated the process.. and it has worked. Also another Win7/64 box, so I am not sure what happened first time around. I actually think that I might have selected both the firmware and hex at the same time, then hit "Program".. which might've put a hex on there, but not the firmware. I am not sure. If it was that, X3max's .rtf instructions need to be a little clearer for the idiot like me, or have the tool first programme the firmware before the hex. best, kabammmi |
