Question Tired of not having psn??

(Before I begin no I havent updated and dont intend to, but thats not what this threads about)

I used the extra time from not being able to sign in, to mod my ps3 a little :D

First off I added 2 ccfl tubes, (1 UV and 1 Blue)

But I decided I wasnt happy with the way it looked so decided to add a few leds

YouTube - PS3 mod

Then I added back the ccfl tubes

Knew that warranty sticker would come in handy >.<

And ended up with

The leds are powered internally via the BD's power supply and the ccfl tubes are powered externally for now, as I havent fully decided wether to keep them on the ps3 or mod my 360's case with them. Both the leds and the ccfl tubes were added without making any holes in the ps3's case (for wires or lights) so it is completely reversable.

Why not see what you can do in your would be psn time?

The LED's look awesome, better than those awful white bars you had.

Hey madshaun, hoping we could put aside what happened before lol

Did you fully open up the PS3...? If you did, you should replace the TIM (Thermal Interface Material) with something better like Shin-Etsu, MX-3, or Tuniq TX-3 (AS5 is crap...).

No, I only needed to disassemble as far as the bluray power supply (both top covers) I didnt need to take any of the internals out, the PulseVU 2x, is sitting under the card reader flap, so I didnt have to open the case at all to fit that, Plus I managed to keep my card readers in and working.

I did things this way, so that its fully reversable should I need to remove it, and have done absolutly no damage to the ps3's case to fit the leds or to run the wires needed.
