Talking [Release] PS3 Homebrew / Update Downloader v1.7

This is a Java Applet that will download homebrew or game updates you select directly to your PS3 by FTP. It is a Java applet so that it runs all ALL OSes and is always up to date when you visit.

Requirements:

- Any OS that supports Java

- Java 1.5+

Major Changes:

- now allows you to search for and directly download PS3 game updates (more features coming)

- new admin feature allows multiple people to update, not just me. (so quicker updates)

- a bunch of bug fixes

Located here: http://ps3.brewology.com/homebrew/

Please give me your feedback! It is much appreciated and useful in making this better for you guys Thanks for your time!

I actually probably should have posted it in here if I had to choose between the two sections. http://www.ps3hax.net/forumdisplay.php?f=139

But I didn't want to double post. Any chance you could move it if its not going to be posted to the site news.

Thanks!

wow, through all the (gratify)releases i lost a bit the overview and also got a little confused(what is now taken away from me, abit at least). thanks for this, innovative for-community work. to honour especially the work. may take the awe away form me to try and use a lot more apps. more then before, we now have the opportunity to use the developed stuff, as the "sofware and their devs" earns it. hope you keep it alive. looking forward on using it

Can someone please clarify for a noob like me: what is this tool good for? Can't we simply download the game updates when starting the game and it notifies you that there is an update available? Because this does not require connection to psn or to update the firmware afaik.
But as i am sure it must be good for something: thanks to the guy who did it!

Reply to realdanielh:

You cannot update games normally from a jailbroken PS3 because you must sign in to PSN which then requires a firmware update.

It is true you don't download updates thru the PSN BUT you have to find the link to download the update from a computer (which is one feature of this software) and then you copy the update to your PS3.
