I'm only really an active member on the PSX-scene forums and i occasionally browse PSgroove and psfreedom, but I had searched psx-scene for DAYS on how to reactivate rock band DLC and no one seemed to have a credible or tested method. SO when i copied all of these things over and found that act.dat reactivated my DLC, I had to share it because I hadn't previously found it. I had no idea it would make it onto ps3hax as big news lol, but yea, in addition to crediting cyberskunk, this little tutorial needs to be made into a sticky on a lot of general discussion forums to assist people in reactivating their DLC.
As for the OP, Rasputin, I put "running unlicensed DLC" not to encourage piracy, but for the simple fact that now none of my DLC that I purchased is licensed and so in the future I'd like being able to run it without having to do the irritating copy over every time. In addition, if it does encourage piracy I wouldn't mind because as much as I would love to pay the developers for their beautiful content, I can't because Sony won't let us onto the PSN, and we can't download DLC to a flash drive and then to our PS3's. As long as this whole offline thing continues, I'm blaming sony for any piracy I'm forced into, because I was always an honest game purchaser and DLC downloader until they took away my Linux. After they burned that bridge...well, they can kindly go **** themselves. |

^^^ Very well said.. The PS3 was my "good honest fun" toy, and my Xbox was hacked because it kept RRODing. I'm not going to put money into it, then 2 months later I can't play my games..
So I got a legit PS3 aswell as a JB, what more do they want!? Even still, all the new releases of DLC that I've already bought, I can't use it on my offline / Xlink machine..? If we had to sign in on their site to DL to flash drive, it'd be no problem! They can still sign the files to our accounts.. This is what happens when they leave it upto the end user's to find a way.. |

funny
I think its funny people will join and read an forum on a network call "ps3hax" and then say "I hope people dont abuse this and hack retail games" why would you even join a forum like this then because dont forget ANY way you jailbreak your ps3 its hacked even for homebrew. I just think its a little hypocritical

You have little understanding of the meaning PS3HaX, i assume that's why you joined to make such a misguided comment. 1.We support circumventing of the console 2.We support Homebrew 3.We DO NOT support piracy 4.We DO NOT support the stealing of PSN games Hacking a console =/= stealing games. Hacking a console has nothing to do with stealing games. Hacking a console does not = stealing games. Oh and so you know, as you seem to have little understanding, hacking a game is not the same as stealing a game. So ill say again, try and understand the difference between hardware circumvention and piracy, they are not the same. |

While the disks are in your possession, no. it is legal. but as soon as they leave your possession, then it becomes illegal.
