d/l psx save game thread

Ok...you know,PSP has been able to play PSone game since Dark Alex reveal his custom firmware. All we have to do is convert the game to .eboot files or anything like that.So...i'm wondering, since PS3 can play PSone game downloaded from PSN and transfer it to PSP,can we do it backwards?I mean, convert the PSone game and put it in the PSP,then we transfer it to PS3 hdd...

to make it simple...

PSone game in PS3,and we can transfer/share it into PSP
PSone game in PSP(those convert games),can we transfer/share it to PS3?

Well,i've just registered in this web,and spare me a little 'cause i know very little about hacking...of course,i just got my NTSC-J PS3 2 hours ago...

Re: Just a thought,give it a try,will you?

i dont think this is possible.
the system goes in an order:
1. buy game at PSN Store
2. download game to PS3
3. copy game to PSP
4. transfer save data only between systems
the onlt stuff that goes from the PSP to the PS3 is the save data, which we know we can transfer between systems, but even then there are checks and things that mean if the data is changed in any way from the original it wont copy it.

altho, on the PS1 save subject.....
ps3 saves can't be "EASILY" modified and put back onto the system, because of the checks, but if u get a ps1 game, copy it to ur psp, the whole thing is u can play it at home, transfer the save to ur psp, play on the move, then copy it back to the ps3 and keep playing, so in theory, the save has been modified by the psp, so will be different, hope ur following this ok.
so is there any way of modifying a ps1 save from a downloaded game to get around something.
i know i know, it was a very long winded way of saying that but i wanted to get that point across!

Re: Just a thought,give it a try,will you?

not possible,

The PS3 downloads PSX.pkg files from store and install those files onto the PS3 hard drive.
When you connect your PSP to your PS3, the PS3 converts (?) the PSX game into a PSP readable eboot.pbp file and transfers the file to you PSP. Once the file is on your PSP, you can't transfer it back to the PS3.

but what about the saves?
these are surely designed to be shared between the ps3 and the psp.
so if we could get into one of the saves and do something with it we might be able to get a responce?

savegames aren't the problem
we can open the savegames (PSV files) but we can't make them

but could we find a expolit thru this?
like the wipeout or GTA thing on the psp, where u load the game, then go to the load screen and boom, u got a hole. seeing as these saves are design to be copied from the different systems, there could be a way of getting into the ps3 thru this.

Re: d/l psx save game thread

So i'm wrong with that, that's ok.But in my opinion(correct me if i'm wrong),PSP and PS3 has similarities between them...I mean, these two can even connect with each other and there is also remote play.Of course,we can try to exploit PS3 via PSP.

The tiff method, pulling out the hdd doesn't seem to work. So,it's time we try the other way to hack this PS3...and we have options for that.PSP,hdd and so on...Nothing's impossible!

Re: d/l psx save game thread

This isn't a bad idea to try. If you can get a game available on PSN which has an exploit on PS1, you can modify the savefile on PSP and test to make sure it works, then transfer the savefile over to PS3.

that could be possible but we can only unpack psx savegames. We can't repack them back to the psv file format.
Sony blocked almost everything from the psp=>ps3 connection. The only time the ps3/psp writes to eachother, is the moment when you register your psp to your ps3. The ps3 writes some info in the psp's flash1. Nothing usefull
