Can you use multiupload? While megaupload has always been my preferred file sharing service, it seems to be having a lot of trouble lately. I often get the "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable." message now.

At least with multiupload you can choose which file sharing service you prefer to download from.

I'm not the programmer, only the official colaborator to release new revisions but by what I know, if ps3 doesn't recognize it as /dev_usb000 then it will not work, but you tried already to copy the roms to /dev_hdd0 using awesome file manager?
