Quick question for those who got the downgrading to work or about to how have the official PS3JB that also using any PS3 system with 2 USB ports.

Can anyone try to do a system backup utility that has something like copy protection save data/demo/ect (something multiple and various stuff but make it so it's like 4-8GB in total file size so the backup utility doesn't take forever) from 3.50 then downgrade to 3.41 and see if you can restore the backup and retain everything.

If you're not one of those people who are technically inept, please don't try this. I rather have someone who's experienced enough to try this out for me as they would have better chance of fixing the PS3 if anything goes wrong.

The reason I ask is that so it would be whole lot easier for some of us to just restore the system backup from 3.50->3.41 than having 3 laptop hard drives (1 for 3.41, 2nd for 3.50, 3rd for using it for downgrading/upgrading fw).

I know if you do a system backup from previous fw to higher fw on the same system it works just fine (from my experience). But since the downgrade is new, I'm curious as if it would work in reverse and I'm pretty sure others are wondering as well.

WOOT LET THE HACKING BEGIN JUST DOWNGRADED MY PS3 TWICE TODAY I MESSED UP ON A HACK THAT WAS SOPPUSED TO WORK BUT WHEN I GOT TO 3.5 AND LOADED THE GAME IT WAS A NEVER ENDING LOADING SCREEN SO I HAD TO REDOWNLOAD AND NOW I FIXED THE ISSUE LOL

at the moment im reinstalling 3.5 for the second unofficial time lol the 1st time was official but anyways ima get on this game and hack the **** out of it LOL

Sorry for the nOooby question, but this only works if you have the $99 dollars for the for the official PS Jailbreak device?

One more, just to confirm, this downgrader does not work on any other device except official PS Jailbreak???

Do you have a attention span of a chimp? The thread that is 3 pages when it was already explained over and over again!

If and when a alternative way to downgrade the fw with dev boards. What makes you think you can follow instructions when you obviously can't even bother reading less than 3 pages and skim through when the question you posted was already answered?

Next thing we know is that you'll be asking us on how to do it when the time comes and it'll come with a easy step by step process and you still manage not to read it.

Even if your new to the site or hacking in general, always try to find the answer to your question yourself by looking on the forums as always the same questions are repeated over and over again.

I've managed to download the files perfectly, but when I click then to update on the updater I keep receiving a message saying FLASH FAILED.

Any idea why this is happening?!

i think to get out the service mode, you will need to :*

downgrade 3.50 > 1.5 service mode(or another one, don't know)

then, 1.5 service mode > 3.15 retail (founded on internet, everywhere)

then just hack 3.15 as usual

This how I multiple crosstest FW 3.15 btw (backup RAW sector)
But afaik this doesn't work for exchange to other machines (the PS3 filesystem is encrypted with personalisation/key) and doesn't work for FW mixes (the NAND contains last 2 FW's + EEPROM has tags of last used FW tag+personalisation/key).

If I have 3 harddisks (1,2,3) with FW 3.15, 3.41 and 3.50 per 3 seperate PS3's (A,B,C) - in total 9 HDD's (A1,A2,A3,B1,B2,B3,C1,C2,C3):
- I can use HD A1, A2, A3 on machine A (if using up/downgrade per shuffle)
- I can use HD B1, B2, B3 on machine B (if using up/downgrade per shuffle)
- I can use HD C1, C2, C3 on machine C (if using up/downgrade per shuffle)
and
- cannot use HD A1, A2, A3 on machine B or C (unless I reformat with the correct encryption key)
- cannot use HD Bx on machine A or C (unless I reformat with the correct encryption key)
- cannot use HD B1, B2, B3 on machine A or B (unless I reformat with the correct encryption key)

if i have 3.42 , and i buy the Original PS Jailbreak,I can Downgrade to 3.41.
my question if i can then use any other jailbreak device when the firmware is 3.41 on my sony ? or the 3.41 version is on the Original PS Jailbreak itself ?

On other sites there are people reporting problems (flashing green led on PS3 and that's all) with some modded pup-files. The working modded pupfile is from november 2010 !!

After downgrading to 3.41 you can use every jailbreak device to jailbreak.

Tested this with my X3Max dongle after downgrade.

yea but whats the point of having a clone jailbreak? when u can just use the 1 that downgrades
