DanyL a member on PSX Scene, has created quite a handy tool, it is a Payload Downloader, which lets you download payloads for your device, without the need of searching the web, here is a quote from his thread, it isnt quite finished as DanyL is finishing it off and adding more payloads, so be patient:

I haven't tried this yet, but I like PSgroove Maker. pick your payload, pick your board, and download your hex.

Why on earth is such a tool made for Windows and not inside a PS3 File Manager?

You download the payload and install it to your device using a PC, why would you use it in a PS3 filemanager.

The PS3 would be a more relevant platform to use for installing the payload in my opinion.

Well maybe in the future it would be possible to falsh payloads from the ps3 but right now it isn't.
