[Tutorial] Custom Mod Meshes In Oblivion
I have found a way to load custom meshes in oblivion.
Things you will need: BSAcommander(right click - save as) and a mod that has meshes of course. I will be using Ren's Beauty Pack Creating a BSA: 1) Unzip your downloaded mod 2) Extract the meshes to a temp folder and the .esp file to your desktop 3) Open bsacommander and hit pack. 4) Browse for a suitable output directory for your .bsa. save it as "<mod name> - MESHES.BSA. this must be ALL CAPS..NO EXEPTIONS. And <mod name> is the name of your .esp file. EXAMPLE: I rename my .esp "REN.ESP"(ALL CAPS!!) so i name my .bsa "REN - MESHES.BSA" 5) in the second bar, browse for you temp folder NOTE: the folder should have ONLY the folder "Meshes" in it 6) In the "Archive flags" section. Make sure it has 00000703 7) in the "Files flags" section. Type CDCD0041 8) Hit pack Now that you have created your .bsa, we need to load it 1) Open your FTP client 2) Navigate to dev_hdd0\game\BLUS300007\PS3_GAME\USRDIR 3) now create a folder called "INSTALLEDDLC" (mega thanks go out to ncfballkid for this one..here is the thread) NOTE: You dont actually have to create a DLCLIST.TXT and PLUGINS.TXT 4) Transfer over you MOD.ESP and MOD - MESHES.BSA files. Now when you start up Oblivion, you will have the mod active. Be aware that there ARE NO TEXTURES. Im currently working on finding out how to load them, and this tutorial was released prematurely in hopes of getting people to experiment. If you have any questions about this tutorial, feel free to comment or PM Last edited by Evil_Intentions; 03-14-2011 at 08:51 PM. |

Have you tried ArchiveInvalidation.txt for textures? I remember on the PC you needed to put stuff in there for textures, but a program for the PC version made that no longer necessary.
The oblivion.ini mentions a "SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt" line. Also, to clarify, you say it must be under dev_hdd0\games\BLUS300007, not dev_hdd0\games\BLUS300007\USRDIR? And the PLUGINS.TXT and DLCLIST.TXT aren't necessary for loading mods at all? Last edited by Schnippshly; 01-21-2011 at 02:29 AM. |

It bothers me how many people post on topics about COD cheating... but when it comes to something like this, where the mods already exist, nobody feels like helping out. It would make playing this game even more fun. Yet all people can think about is ways to hack some crappy FPS online so they can look cool but still suck. Frustrating.

Now calm down, I think we've found a way to load textures. i am about to test, But I hear that you cant get mods to load on 3.55, which is what I have. If anyone is running 3.41 please..PLEASE pm me. I will send you a few files to try to load, and will recieve your feedback.
If all ends up working, I will attempt to host a server of pre-converted mods. ![]() ![]() ![]()
