I made a further test. It is not because of the Regio code separates to the AACS. AACS is the copy protection of the BluRay of films, I have 2 films copy inclusive. Regio code 1 and 3 and them run. Thus it can only be because of it.

hmm so what steps did you do to make it work?
cuz I downgraded with modified 3.41 then ftp the files to hdd0.
but that didnt work.

what I am trying to do now is:
downgrade with modified 3.41.
do system restore (in service menu)
then full format hdd
then copy the fix to hdd0

will report my findings

its a right itch to play pal dvds or bd, would i be able downgrade to pal firmware and get round this.

i downgrade my ps3 form 3.50 to 3.15 than no bd mivies and games from pstore dont work needs activation, what i do to activate the games is: again to 3.50 activate from psn and backup to hdd external, than downgrade to 3.41 restore de backup and the games are working, my question is when i activate the games there is another option and says something about movie, if we activate that "movies" the bluray is fixed?? somone to try it, because i try lots of downgrades and firmwares and im tired to upgrade and downgrade again. thanks

If you downgrade to 3.41 from 3.50 on a ps3 phat and lose blueray and did not backup dev3 could you upgrade back to 3.50 backup dev3 and re-downgrade then restore from backup?
would this work?

Hmm I have read every single post here, and it seems people who are having trouble avoiding the Bluray Movie playback lost are people who
1) Own a PAL version. I know of the models losing their BR playback, but if Wateva is telling the truth, it would seem he has a CECHG and has successfully downgraded without losing Bluray playback.
2) Downgraded directly from 3.50 to 3.41 rather than 3.50 to 2.10 first. I was wondering, what model is your ps3, i am guessing it is the CECHG model like mine. I heard there is some sort of bug in the 3.41 fw.

Anyways when you say you confirm it works downgrading from 3.50 to 3.41, are you talking about just being able to downgrade directly from 3.50 to 2.10? or that the Bluray Playback is fixed after downgrade?

Right now i am on a 3.50fw, never JB, 40gig Phat PS3 NTSC, model CECHG01. What is this backing up DEV3 story? Can I downgrade with a backup dev3?
