i am about to buy a us ps3... does it need a voltage converter to use in india?.. (its 220v here).
i checked many sites and the opinions are divided... i need 1 CLEAR solution to that....
And about the region locked ps2 games... should they be bought from india or us?....

Re: US ps3

US PS3 is 110v only, so yeah, you'll need a voltage converter from 220v to 110v.

Since it's a US PS3, region locked PS2 Games MUST be US Region...
It means that, if you have a old PS2-J game it won't play on your PS3 US console.

Re: US ps3

Also... another thing... In india they use PaL Region Tv's, like in Europe so i dunno if a Us NTSC ps3 will work there, I know psps charge in india as i have done it be for but since the ps3 is NTSC, it might not show on ur tv in india unles its an exported one.

Re: US ps3

Get the US PS3 and you won't need any converters as PS3 comes with a universal converter that is compatible with 100-220V. A friend of mine has got a US PS3 and it is working fine with 220V. As for the the PS2 games, make sure you buy Original PS2 US Region games from any where as ps2 and ps1 games are region locked in the PS3.

Re: US ps3

Which version are u buying?. I dont know if this is relevant but I bought the 60GB US PS3 and it runs on 220V no issues ... I am in India.
U will notice at the back tha the 110V label no longer exists , instead it just says 'AC IN' like the PAL versions.
Most tv's are multi format so its not a problem (NTSC/PAL). If ur using HDMI then its no issue at all.
Also PAL games run on the US PS3... atleast they do in HDMI.... maybe one of the members here can confirm whether its the case even with composite input.
