My old slim with 3.41 broke I want to play my backups what can I do. I have been out of the scene for a while. I was using my ipod to jailbreak my 3.41 please help me out guys.

upgrade to geo 3.55 and then downgrade it or leave it at geo 3.55 and wait awhile for new things

If the ps3 came with 3.50 already installed, don't risk downgrading.
High chance of a permanent brick.

i agree entirely with japsander.

maybe Chris9191 should do alot more reading before giving out advice in the future, if you read the downgrade procedure it clearly stated do not try this on slims as it will brick, mainly those with 3.50fw pre installed.

ive done it on my slim and with no problems it was on 3.50

i upgraded to 3.55 to go online for awhile then downgraded. so what is the problem?

what there saying is if when you buy your ps3 slim and its already on 3.50 then a brick is likely?

if you upgraded from older fw on yours to 3.50 then a brick is unlikely.

Chris9191 lol, so you have Fat? Well people aint that lucky. And this guy who was asking, has a 2.50 SLIM! Not FAT.. If you would use Slim and tryed to downgrade, you would brick your console... So maybe you should talk more about In-Topic, then Off-Topic...

So i pretty much bought a ps3 that will not work correctly? This is the whole reason I bought another one. Any more advice. Also thanks for the heads up guys.

Read this:

you bought it with 3.50! meaning the original downgrade, might or might not work for you, it will not brick your machine, it will simply fail.
Now if you successfully downgrade, you can, upgrade to 3.55 and downgrade back to 3.41 if you want.
if you had bought your machine with 3.55 and tryed to downgrade with new method it would fail and brick your machine, but seeing you bought it with 3.50 you might as well try to downgrade with the first method, to see if it works or not.
