A handy little application to make the update patching job a whole lot easier has been released. This app helps you to patch up the original firmware to a patched one with a nice GUI so no need for all the command prompt and bsdff downloads.

A new program has arrived, that makes simple work of applying CFW patches, onto official firmware files. When downloading custom firmware files, many of you have probably noticed files that end in the .bsdpatch or .patch file extension. This program, GUI v1.0.5 CFW Patcher, allows you to easily apply those patches to official firmware, turning it into the custom firmware which you chose.

Note: Example for applying the patch to your Kmeaw OFW must patchfile.rar recover from its archive and extract the patchfile. Rename this file PS3UPDAT.PUP.bsdiff and specify the folder containing it to step 4!

1 - Select the folder bspatch

2 - Select the folder content of 3.55 OFW

3 - Select the folder where you want to create the CFW

4 - Select the folder containing the patch to apply

5 - Click on "Execute", the CFW will be generated at the selected location

GUI Patcher v1.0.7 CFW is a simple software that runs on Windows, allowing you to patch the Official PlayStation 3 Firmware (OFW) to create the custom firmware (CFW). The application is simple, since you fill in the various fields requested (OFW, link the patch, output name CFW). The patch will be named PS3UPDAT.PUP.bsdiff

what happens when sony rolls out there firmware?? well, i has just wondering cause i have netflix and games i want to play online... and i need to be signed in to psn to stream netflix and play games. is there any way someone could make a new web browser from pkg?? or is it even possible?, or something to where netflix can be used with out being signed in to psn. i tried to use and stream off ps3 media server but no go. I'm asking cause if the new update comes there will be no logging in psn with use of cfw. i don't want to take a chance to get band just in case. I'm still on hots jb.. don't want to update to cfw just yet. whats the future look for a new web browser and playing official games i own on psn when the new sony firmware comes out with 3.55 jb ps3?

the same thing will happen as before you will ether choose to update and loose cfw(prob not for long) and have psn or don't update and keep hacks but loose psn.
not trying to be an ass but you should have known there is a chance to get banned if you hack, maybe next time read up on it alittle more before doing it.
we have keys now not so easy for sony to block without ****ing something up

well, that's to bad.. i still want to play online with games i own and stream netflix. i guess I'm going back to sony's ofw. that sucks cause i still want to play some emu's and have ftp on there where i can copy stuff off my pc to ps3.. was way easy to just drag and drop then to have to go back and forth to ps3. if only someone could make web browser to where you can stream netflix on there. but then i still would have to update to play online.. oh well. thanks anyways. oh by the way what keys? and how do i get a hold of them?

strange??? i just updated to sony's official firmware and i was still able to run black ftp 1.2? why is that?

they got the sony keys just search the forum, that is how they made the cfw, i would just wait and see no need to jump the gun just yet on going back to ofw

yeah, i was checking that roku box out.. i mite get one.. its to bad that tvesity doesn't allow netflix streaming. i was looking at playon media server to.. but i hear you have to pay yearly for it.. makes no sense to me why you have to pay yearly, i would pay for a one time fee but whatever. another thing is that i just updated to sony's ofw and was still able to run blackbox ftp v1.2 is that normal??
