FTP Gigabit Server to Multiple PS3s

I'm trying to send files via FTP to multiple PS3s at the same time. I've setup my computer with a SATA II Hard Disk (7200 RPM Desktop HD, 120GB) and a Gigabit LanCard on PCI Express. I've got a 8 port Gigabit Managed Switch. And I've got all CAT 6 cables & connectors.

When i send the files to just one PS3 - one file at a time - i get an average speed between 20 - 25 Megabytes / Second.

But if I start transfer to 2 PS3s simultaneously, I get an average speed of 7 Megabytes / Second on each, giving an aggregate of 14 Megabytes / Second.

Firstly the aggregate does not make sense, secondly, I can't seem to find the bottle neck in the process.

I was expecting that each PS3 simultaneously can get up to atleast 20 MB / second with this setup. I want to upload to around 10 PS3s simultaneously.

FTP Server: BlackB0x v1.2
FTP Client: CuteFTP (Premium Version)
FileZilla

PS3: CFW 3.55-kmeaw

Any suggestions on what would be the fastest way to do this?

Please don't suggest buying 8 External HDs, because even with External HDs, i'm not able to achieve more than 15 Megabytes / Second speeds.

Why on earth do you want to upload to so many consoles at once. And why is transfer speed such an issue? As for your problem, i would assume it's because of the crappy network adapters in the ps3.

I always get an average speed of 70-85 MBps, sometimes it goes up to 100-120MBps during 20-30 seconds..

Im using CuteFtp pro 8.3.3, with the most recent version of it was between 25-30MBps, so I downgraded to this version which seems to give me the better speeds.

Im using my onboard Lan Card (Realtek RTL8201N) + Ethernet cable Cat5 (not crossover) ; On the ps3, blackbox 1.3/sometimes Multiman

forgot to mention I have set "per site concurrent transfers" to 2 at time which improved my speed instead of the default parameter. Dont know, you can try

You need to bear in mind that your HDD can only transfer so many bytes of data at a time. FTP isn't the best protocol either, it'll drop significantly to accommodate the bottlenecks you're experiencing -- it's always trying to find the best SUSTAINED rate - it iterates at intervals to try to increase that rate slowly, it'll cut your transfer speeds by HALF when it encounters a hiccup. Having a raid0 will help a bit -- but if you're accessing the same files at the same time you'll have bottlenecks on the disk level.

I've experienced a lot of funk dealing with this where speeds stay low for no apparent reason. It's just a really time consuming process that you're exposing yourself into...
