Firmware: 3.55 DEX Itskamel

I have been trying to boot backups from the BD Emu HDD feature that is accessible by DEX following this guide: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?p=401953

I understand that this is for 3.6+ but I assume it should work for 3.55.
Anyway every time I try to start the game I get an error 80010006 even though these games work when copied to the internal HDD.
I tried SAW the game because It's so small and I tried Killzone 2 and neither worked so I'm assuming it's something wrong with my setup.

The reason I want to be able to use them off usb this way is because I want to use them to gain access to games that require a disk in the drive e.g. God of war 3 because my drive is broken.

So anyone know why I keep getting the 80010006 error?.
