While I can't say for certain that it'll solve your problem (as im still kinda a newb to this stuff myself), I did notice some confusing areas in his original instructions, which can make you feel a little bit like this guy ---> ![]() So, with the understanding that lucifer0512 is the one who outlined this process at the beginning of this thread, I'm gong to give a somewhat cleaned up version of the process that hopefully reads better. Also, as I have had no luck whatsoever with getting comgenisawsomefilemanager to work and multiman now has its own perfectly good file manager built in, I'm going to adapt for using the file manager in muliman instead =) Notice. read through all of these instructions before starting this process there's a few places where you can get lost or way ahead of yourself if you don't know that you're not done yet. What you'll need A jailbroken PS3 (process beyond the scope of this tutorial) An original copy of dead rising 2 (no piracy here, guys, that's illegal and makes us all look bad) a USB thumbdrive with at least 29MB of free space datafile.rar, PARAM.SFO, and UP0001-BLES00948_00-0000000000000000.rar from the original post of this thread file manager of your choice (ill be using the one built into multiman but if you already have a prefered one, more power to you) multiman, rogero, or similar backup utility from the downloads page as the ones linked to in the original post are now vastly outdated. for this tutorial, we'll be using multiman(I'm using 04.04.02, because ive been having a time downloading the latest version on my slow internet connection, but I'm sure the latest version will work just fine as well), as that's what I know, but if you know your way around your own personal backup utility well enough to follow along, then by all means. not absolutely necessary, but strongly recommended a working knowledge of basic PS3 terminology and a little bit of experience navigating it. a basic understanding of pc terminology and experience using a thumbdrive a usb mouse to make certain parts slightly less confusing rolling up our sleeves and getting to it once you have everything you need, we're ready to get started! 1. extract and copy all files to the root of a usb thumbdrive via pc, then disconnect that thumdrive from your computer and connect to your ps3. 2. if you haven't already, install multiman or whatever backup utility you'll be using via "install package files" under the games heading of XMB. 3. insert dead rising 2 and open up multiman or your utility of choice and back up the game disk to the hard disk, then exit multiman by pressing the button.4. Install the UP0001-BLES00948_00-0000000000000000.pkg file from install package files. 5. return to multiman and (in the XMB lookalike skin)scroll all the way to the left and choose "file manager/mmos 6. navigating with your gamepad (or usb mouse), double tap with the x button(or left mouse button) on "ps3™root" to bring up a navigation pane. (or however it works in your file manager) 7. navigate to /dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30439-[Dead Rising2]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR and press circle(right mouse button)after highlighting the data file and select "copy" with the X(left mouse) button 8. open another PS3™root window and navigate as described to /dev_hdd0/game/BLES00948/USRDIR and press circle(right mouse button) and select paste. confirm your choice, then wait approximately 10 minutes for the file transfer to complete. 9. Once the file transfer finishes, open another root and select whichever usb has your files on it (dev_usb000 or dev_usb001, most likely) and copy datafile.big from your thumbdrive to /dev_hdd0/game/bles00948/USRDIR and confirm your decision 10. copy the param.sfo file from your thumbdrive to /dev_hdd0/game/bles00948. (an easy way to get there is to doubletap x or the left mouse button on the folder you copied the file into from the previous step, in multiman, anyway). 11. after copying all files, exit out of your multiman, remove the dead rising 2 disk (can actually probably do this at any point after backing up), and select the dead rising 2 icon that appeared after you installed UP0001-BLES00948_00-0000000000000000.pkg, say no to any updates, and away you go. 12. whenever you want to play the game, reinstall the package file and then repeat steps 9-11. notes I wish there was a way to disable cheats built into this, but since the cheats didn't seem to be in place anyway on mine, im not gonna complain about that too much. I also wish I could copy my save files from my previous game, as I had played the game through a couple of times from the disk before I found this tutorial, but I'm not going to complain about that either. There really needs to be a way to do this once and then have the icon there on XMB at all times, but whatever. anyway, thanks again to lucifer0512 for the original tutorial, and here's to this version helping more people!! ![]() PS: I find it hilarious that the first post was from a guy calling himself lucifer and the first reply is from someone calling themselves "Jedichrist" thanking him for the tut.
