With CFW we were able to run homebrew and backups, on 3.55 Firmware and we were able to maintain online play, the homebrew was great, but unfortunately with every great hack etc, there is a bad side, this bad side was the Call of Duty: Black Ops cheaters, they miss used a homebrew filemanager to install a patch, in order to create lobbies and cheat at the game, ruining the experience for honest legit players, several websites have reported on this ban, so finding the original source was kinda hard, here is a quote from the possible original source(ripten.com)

this will cost chaos on COD forums. coz mostly of the people that get banned will try to make excuses and deny they hacked their account. ---->:aetsch: for them. Enjoy playing offline.

That is good I don't feel any sympathy for those who give themselves an unfair advantage and ruin the game experience for others. Hope they ban people cheating on other games as well.

Delighted. The more banned the better. I was getting very bored of newbs constantly asking questions like "KAN PLY COD WIT DIS FW LOL?". By all means, play CoD online but don't be a hacking ******bag. Play fair and square.

what about we just have a backup on hard drive without modding the file, will this result in a ban?

Its for the people that cheated, as it says in the title, if you did any lobbies etc, you will probably be banned.

Dus this mean, that when you play with a back up manager you getted banned, also when you have the original disc, and nobody else have a back up with that disc.

Our only when u cheated with a patch.
