Ps3 hard drive.
I have a 60gig ps3 and i wanna use my 160gig drive out of my laptop. When I tried putin it in the ps3 says I need to put a drive with fw version 3.5 in. Why is this and is there a way to make it work?

the ps3 will format your hard drive ...you can put the original firmware that was there just before you swap de hard drive

it keeps saying that the syatem software cannot be run corretly and the system partition of the hard drive must be reformated

Download the fw update for your current version e.g 3.50
Put the file in /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP Then turn on ps3

got it. works great. how do i get cfw on it and can i use cwcheat on the ps3?

3.55 is good but dont go higher... you can download tht cfw for 3.55 on geohot site ...just install it the same way you update de ps3

a few homebrews are already out ...but if you want backup managers ...they can backup games but wont play them ...you can try to patch them on .PKG files with ''RAW GAME INSTALLER'' but not all will work ...
