As you probably know - the PlaystationStore can be accessed by your PC internet browser at http://store.playstation.com. I was looking at the links on the demos available for download and they appear as javascripts. now as soon as you click the download link they appear on the 'downloaded list' they dont need to be downloaded but just make the download trigger. Let me try and explain in a bit more detail.

Lets use Ridge Racer 2 Demo as an example.
When your on the Ridge Racer 2 Demo page ''http://store.playstation.com/store/product.vm?id=EP9000-UCES00422_00-DPCRIDGEII000001''
there should be a download button, the javascript to download the demo is ''javascriptroductPage.fetchDrm('EP9000-UCES00422_00-DPCRIDGEII000001-E001',null)''

Now, lets look at a game that costs, for example, wipEout.
Now the add to cart button is on display, the javascript for this is ''javascript:window.location='/store/addToCart.action?quantity=01&id=EP9000-NPEE00004_00-GWIPEOUTPS000001-EE01''

As you might see theres a simularity between them, their ID.
RR 2 Demo: EP9000-UCES00422_00-DPCRIDGEII000001-E001
WipEout: EP9000-NPEE00004_00-GWIPEOUTPS000001-EE01

Now if we change the ID of the download from RR 2 Demo to wipEout we get:
''javascriptroductPage.fetchDrm('EP9000-NPEE00004_00-GWIPEOUTPS000001-EE01',null)''

However using this on the wipeout page doest trigger the download. We get a popup saying: 'Timeout waiting on RPC request'. If we can get the file to just start downloading it will appear as downloaded and we will be able to download it from the downloaded games on the PS3. Try it yourself and see if you have any breakthroughs with it. Maybe editing the source may lead somewhere but i thought i would share this with you befor i go to bed.

this may lead to maybe or a limited time to get free games like it was on steam when people got free games but unfortunately it will be closed the next day it is published and it's over
