Call of Privacy: Modern Spyware By PlayStation Network
Long time PS3 Dev SKFU posted a link on IRC and his twitter, to quite an interesting article, discussing the security of the Playstation Network(PSN), the article is written by a group calling itself ”The Anonymous Data Protection Officers”, here it is in full:

If this is true then sony may be in contradiction to european law on data protection and The Data Protection Act 1998 in the UK

btw has anyone tried to change the consoleid in charles and see if he's unbanned ? if so, it's a big problem because it means that you can access psn by just changing the console id, and on top of that you can ban a legit user's ID

Good post, but the only thing I disagree with it your logic for asking sony to use more than SSL.
The only eventuality where it isnt secure enough is when a PS3 is jailbroken. Jailbreaking your machine then expecting sony to patch up the vulnerabilities caused by doing so is a bit much.
