Petition against Sony's action
Not sure if someone else has started a petition against Son'y new psn terms and conditions. I know this is not gonna go anywhere far but at least for those of you who want to speak their minds can do so here.
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sonypsn/ It never hurts to speak out! lets show Sony they can't do whatever they want and at least not hear about what we have to say. I know a lot of you will say, what’s a petition going to do? you think Sony cares? Well they do and they should cause at the end we are the end users of their products. |

Um... They can do whatever they want with their network. The console is yours, PSN is not.

You're missing the picture. Like you said the console is mine as well as what's inside. Like pics and videos that's mine and no one should be able to access them at anytime or whenever they want, without my knowledge

Oh no, I assure I am one of the few here who DO "get the picture". Do you even know why I am on 3.15 still? Bottom line is that the TOS have always been harsh and intrusive, these new ones include very little changed, all of you are just banging your pots and pans because they have finally executed what they have told us all they could in the TOS for years, which is monitor what we are doing with the system when we go onto PSN. Everyone is just freaking out because they can no longer break into PSN and that they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. I have not had my modded console on PSN at all, and guess what? I did not get one of these warning emails that everyone breaking onto PSN did, take from that what you will. Also your petition claims that you are afraid of them looking at your pictures and movies and being spied on by random employees? Even if you really DO think they have the resources and manpower to look at that kind of stuff, do you really think they want to find your porn? I'd also like to see just WHERE in the new TOS it says that they can do that. We already know what they are looking at, and its not files on your drives, it IS programs executed. Lastly, everyone claiming that this is all due to otherOS, don't kid me, I was directly affected by that. Failoverflow is one of the few who actually were about that. All these millions of backup management tools, and PSN obfuscation tools didn't have jack to do with otherOS and that is 98% of what this "scene" is.
It would have been nice to see everyone be "freedom fighters" and standing up for digital rights when otherOS was taken away as that was truly the biggest encroachment on consumers rights as far as Sony and the PS3 is concerned. Sadly very few people cared until they could no longer illegitimately break onto a network that wasn't theirs without fear that they were actually being watched over. Carry on with your petition, it just carries very little weight now. |

This isn't going to go anywhere. They need suing to get their attention.

************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* I'd have to say PSN is definitely theirs for that fact that servers cost money to maintain. |

The petition is growing fast; we've reached 258 signatures in a day and a half. Some of you still think it's not worth it, but what do you have to lose if you sign. There are no catchs, no spams of any kind and most definitely no donations what so ever! I only ask for few minutes to sign. In my opinion every voice counts, but at the end it's up to you!
Thank you all http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sonypsn/ Last edited by robg1983; 02-19-2011 at 05:01 PM. |

PSN is undoubtably theirs.
it has it's own terms of service (with service being the operative word) all ps3 owners are invited to use this service that is provided free of charge providing the terms are followed. at no point with the purchase of the console was PSN advertised as a purchased item.
