Neat...now you need one of those laser-cut grills with a logo on it...like the logo for your favorite game or maybe just a spider or something like that. Ponoko can laser cut just about any design you could possibly create (remembering that you can't have a circle inside a circle of course).
BTW...did you use a dremel or what? |

hehe
i havent finished!!!!! i had to paint the below line because there was a defect on the plastic. I bought a used ps3 slim case for this mod to test things out, and the person that sold it to me that took it apart did a mess and caused the plastic to have a white mark that can be seen on the above pics, so i had to paint a line to cover it up. I used some grey metallic tunning spray paint that shines. My main idea is to paint a second line that goes horizontal that passes the hole, so i got the main idea of something like a RALLY STRIPES MOD!, But i need to wait a lot for the paint to dry correctly quality pic:

This looks Great, you did a good job of it, very tidy! I might try it myself.
Maybe put some LEDs inside too.

I had no dremel!, so i used everything i had at hand, All that was used was:
1) a compas to draw a perfect circle on the back of the case and make it match the cooler position. 2) A cheap craft knife, i heated this thing in the kitchen to have plastic removed in the center of the circle 3) then i used a Round File to make the circle bigger, and when i was near the border... 4) I used a V shape hard plastic glass, i covered it with sand paper 100 or 80 grit and started to rotate it inside the hole of the case to have a perfect circle. 5) I bought a mesh fan grill, like the ones used for the PC, i cutted it and "glued" it on the back of the case. As "glue" I used a 2 compund epoxy thing that after some hours becomes rock solid. No screws were used, because its nicer when you donīt see them. and then for paiting just tape, paper and spray paint. Next weekend i will continue painting another stripe ![]() Its bad that the case had a defect and i had to do the line horizontal, If you do the lines vertically it would look better, but if you use the ps3 with the vertical stand then this way looks better. |

Thats very do-able. I threw that together for a news post so its not an actual mod.
But from my knowledge you could: Cut out the design via CNC machine or laser cutter and install blue LEDs in the back. Or you can use/create a vinyl sticker (but it won't glow). |
