I know with the wii you can get a program called priloader that will disable game updates so you dont brick your wii. Does the ps3 have a similar program that will stop the updates? thanks.

No. But you can manually remove the update file of the game before hand.

that wouldn't help. As the game updates are stored on the disc. Granted you would need to further update the game through the internet in order to play online.

i dunno what u guys are on about but tbh i only press circle when it asks for it. simple

ALSO k33p !n m!nd that the ps3 & the wii run games differently, on the wii if a udate is pushed you risk a brick becasue the game has rights to write to locations that could cause issues, plus you normally use sotck Syscalls on the wii & if a gme is using that same sys call, thats a brick.


however on the ps3 , the Games do not have the ability to do anythign to the system files, so if you DL a bogus game update, its only going to affect that game & not the whole system

listen all you have to do is start the game and when it prompts you to update instead of pushing x to continue press O to cancel. the game will then start. its that easy. if you do choose to do the game update it will allow it without psn access. im on rebug 3.55.1 .

also as far as i can tell cinavia drm has been completely disabled. has anyone else noticed this?

Some games like portal 2, don't ask u anything. And later games that will come, i doubt that will ask you *You want to update?*.

he is surely talking about game software updates...press circle if you dont want to update or you can use "ps3 game updater"(google it) to see which firmware the game update requires; if the software update requires any firmware higher than 3.55, I wouldn't update (press circle button).
