[Update2] Anonymous Attacks Resume, Demands Surface

Looks like Anonymous is back at it, if your greeted with the PSN error code 80710D36 then its most likely another waves of DDoS attacks. I am able to login to PSN after a few tries but it is still quite slow. Various official PS3 sites are also down or extremely slow loading.

The group Ano... [Read More]

1. sony will claim blackmail/extortion as a valid reason to make these things illegal

2. sony will pass on more legal requirements to the end user in all new products

3. sony will 100% attempt to find any and all people involved in this attack

this attack is nothing more than pissing in the wind as far as sony are concerned.
the longer it keeps up, the less guilty sony become and the more guilty we become.
in a way this is excellent news for sony, after all, they are no longer the bad guys.

if the amount of jailbroken systems is small, but yet the vast amount of "innocent" users are affected, who the **** is anyone in their right minds going to blame?
the company providing a service free of charge? or maybe the small minority who just have to stick their boot in, screwing the majority because they are pissed off at the company who denies them?

this is the wrong way to deal with this kind of dispute, especially as it is still ongoing.
this is nothing more than low level terrorism aimed at a corporation. of course, many of us will not care as they are not affected at all by this while they are safe in their homes thinking "oh well i cant go on psn, its no loss to me"

ah **** it im not going to say any more on it as id be wasting my breath

Anonymous will succeed in only one thing in my opinion, and that is to ruin everything they are supposedly fighting for.

IMO chances of Sony taking these demands are 1/100000000000000000000000000000

Moved to front page.

Yea can I just point out that MS tried the same thing and failed. Now look at where they are, open source is a good thing! It allows more creativity on hardware and software fronts which expands knowledge and productivity even further. Look at all the different ways kinect is used now, even for medicine, something that would not happen if it Kinect wasn't open sourced.... Yet Sony is going to win this all out legal battle... Hrm... right....

In the end after 1 day, it means nothing, after a month - half a year, could change the outcome.

Anonymous, being the same group or different; by the same name, are doing the same thing against the 2 parties in the Norwegian government.

Agreed, this will lead to nothing more than a bunch of kids getting lawsuits handed to them, isps' shutting down their net, and a whole lot of headaches.

It may be for a noble cause, but it will harm themselves more in the long run.

I think we all agree that open source is good, but this will just make us the enemy and scum in the eyes of the Vast majority of PS3 users and the press.

There are much better ways to make a point, and let's be honest, the whole anonymous spiel makes them sound comical lol.

For the main, the current legal arguments are not about OtherOS or Sony' actions against us, they are about Gh', Graf' etc breach of copyright and ownership laws, so citing them as reasons for this action is ridiculous as unless a person is aware of what is happening and what they have done like we are, they will see just the fact that as it stands now, they have committed a crime.
