Graf: GameOS VFlash resizer for Linux + Small Tutorial for installing Linux

Graf is still hard at work on Linux, as he released more tools today- mainly an app for GameOS VFlash resizer. These tools are only for FW 3.41 but can be adopted to run on FW 3.55 (and people already have).

Does Grafs OOS work on phat consoles and with any OOS compatible distro?

If so when things go more stable I'll update and hack my 3.15 console so I can run newer games, homebrew and Linux.

Thanks Graf if you're reading this for your work on the scene.

Edit:

By 3.15, I meant my phat console with 3.15.

By update I mean to newer system software which natively lack oos eg. 3.41/3.55.

Thank you so much graf if you happen to stop by and read this thread, you do great work. I never fail to be impressed by your work. To all the other devs and testers: "thank you". you are all important to this scene and its community. Alright, enough sucking up, down to business.

I've sadly been too busy to test linux on my ps3 yet, so I have a few questions to those that have.

-is it stable? I expect so, but it never(rarely) hurts to ask.
-how fast is it running?
-how usable is it?
and finally
-what are some personal faves of programs/games/whatever that anyone who decides to answer is enjoying?

Responses to any or all of these questions are greatly appreciated. Individual opinions matter to me. Thanks to those who bothered reading this semi-long and probably rambling post, I'm quite sleep-deprived.

Sort of, as you can tell by my post, I don't have all the details, but graf's programs allow for partitioning and for linux to be run from gameos. Unlike otheros, gameos isn't restricted in its hardware use.

Graf has no own distro. He makes a custom kernel and tools with all information he has from reverse engineering the HyperVisor. This kernel can be added to every disto that is available for PowerPC.

Note that the tools are only for experienced users. Maybe install BootOS on a USB stick first and play with it and learn before attempting to partition the internal harddrive and to install petitiboot.

And a keyboard is always needed with Linux. Most root commands have to be done at the terminal and without keyboard that is a problem.

The one thing holding me back for installing on internal is this:

It’s easy to adapt them for 3.55.
I uploaded my VFLASH resizer app for GameOS. I need someone who wants to test it. Make sure you make backup of your HDD first Because after resizing, GameOS will reformat HDD.
No 500GB backup space yet. Expensive dentist bill this month so it has to wait.
Did the OtherOS installer reformat the GameOS partition? Can't remember actually.
