Well doesnt the new US TOS now say they may change to charge for the creation of accounts or something along those lines? This may be a scam by Sony in order to make people think that buying a new account will be more secure, so you end up with 70 million paying like $30 for something they already have, if all 70 million pay for their "secure" accounts that's $2.1 billion Sony would make in a matter of weeks!
So@ 1) Fake hacking 2) Charge for "security" 3) Profit!

As has now been proved (cheer ultimathaker
) you should never believe what you read no matter how reliable the source. Just because Sony said it was a hacker doesn't make it fact. someone said sony = retards, well I don't agree. Sony now have all their pieces lined up and can now blame absolutely everything on hackers. PSN now, in the future I am sure we will be responsible for YLOD and more.. its a smart move. The Sony phanboys, the media & the courts are already eating out of Sony's fat hands, so why not play the "fckin' hackers" card every chance they get. But we all know, Sony are at fault for this. The blame is laid at their clown shoes so let them go on, soon enough the hackers will have enough and then Sonys defense's will fall. |

It wasn't a DDoS attack, it was a Distributed International-Level Denial Of Service attack. Yep, that's what they are....
Sheer Ineptitude...... |

Forgive me if I call bull**** on this!
Someone else was saying the same thing I was thinking elsewhere. Sony are liars and have been involved in the infamous rootkit scandal, they lied to everyone about Other O/S and used it as a selling point and to avoid taxes in the UK by claiming the gaming console was a personal computer. Lately we've seen just how corrupt and how evil the corporation of Sony actually is, but hey, all corps are evil in hindsight bit none from the BIG 3 have abused consumers like Sony. Now they cry hacker, that's an excuse, they just want to put the blame on someone else other than themselves because as we have noticed this entire generation, Sony are **** with online, total ametuers copying XBOX Live as much as they possibly can. Live comes with a cost for a reason and I'm glad Microsoft never gave in to Valve also. At least stuff works on the green side. |

EDIT: Oooooo... they didn't actually say it was a hacker attack did they, they put it down to "external intrusion on our system".. aint it a bit weird that after the original DDoS attack from Anonymous they hired some high-rate horse's arse company (I think it was Prolexic Technologies) to protect them better and BAM! the entire system goes down.
But of course Sony can't admit it may be their own mistake or that somebody somewhere has dropped the ball. Instead they let the phanboys & media assume that Anonymous or a bunch of p1ssed off hackers are responsible. Now i aint no technical whizz-kid, but in the original "attacks" it didn't take Sony 3 f&ckin days to get their sh1t back on-line. It doesn't take this long to pull records and trace some IP's.. come on Sony pull the other one. Last edited by DaveOMac; 04-23-2011 at 10:24 AM. |

I agree, just use Live (far superior product - you get what you pay for).
Overall I just don't know what to believe. Part of me says that cyberspace is still the wild wild west and you have to know how to behave. $ony thinks it is like the real world and they own everything. Not true on the internet. They have kicked so many balls lately I am sure someone decided to kick back. On the web it takes one person to take down millions. Online you need to observe the golden rule; Do unto others as you want them to do unto you. Then again, I have to say look at the source. These guys are habitual liars. So who really knows? Either way my first statement applies. Their $#@$ service is a @#$@ service so I'll stick with Live for my online play. Live is the grown up pool with a life guard. PSN is the kiddy pool with a bunch of script kiddies $%#ing in it. Which one do you want to swim in? |
