Thumbs down

Jesus titty@#$%ing christ. With this problem, not only do I think there should be a third party server, but it looks like Sony should not even be LEGALLY ALLOWED to run their own network. Seriously.. I've spent a LOT of money on PSN, and if my information was stolen, I'll be ready to march to Sony headquarters with a bag of leeches, a tub of hot salt and habanero water, a case of razor blades, and whatever other slow and painful means of torturing something I can think of. Who's with me here?

Eh, wishful thinking, but if I ever do run into one of the people from Sony, and know about it, they will receive an ass kicking that makes Mike Tyson look like a *****.

Anyway, private server's starting to look more and more like a great idea. And I'd be willing to bet that personal info would be harder to get ahold of too. (or just set up a private server that allows people to play anonymously, since I doubt any kind of private server would have a PSN Store anyway.)

I know some people MOD their PS3 just for homebrews and stuff.

But majority is for Piracy. so dont blame Sony for everything blame ur STUPIDITY too. people also say kids mostly do the piracy, NO. I know more than 20 people that making more than enough to buy games but they rather chose to download and pirate games for free.

so let just shutup and wait till PSN goen online again.
And that's precisely what's wrong with society today, people think it's ok to pirate games/music/movies especially because they can do it without any penalty to themselves.. Those people should have their internet blocked and put in jail, it's those people who ruin it for the rest... And the anoyance of DRM and copyprotection is all thanx to those morons..

Exclamation

Why don't you go back to your boss at Sony and tell him to sodomize himself with a post hole digger. You're kind of in the wrong thread for *****ing about piracy. Piracy didn't cause PSN to go offline. Homebrew didn't cause PSN to go offline. A targeted attack at the PlayStation Network started it, (and by the way, I might add, I was playing online just fine while all these supposed attacks were going on) and then SONY took the servers down. I repeat. SONY.

Also, it wasn't piracy or hackers that put a loophole in Sony's code that lets thieves steal our credit card info.. Again, that was *drumroll* THAT'S RIGHT, IT WAS SONY!!!

And before you go on a little name calling rant or try to report me to your boss so he can try to SUE me, I'm running 3.60 firmware. I have NO pirated software on my PS3. I do however, have a lot of money invested into it, and a large amount of that was for online gaming.

Sega needs to come back for revenge. Put Sony out of business, and release the Dreamcast 2. Or whatever the hell they want to call it.

Stop being a knob.

Regardless of what brought PSN down Piracy is bad, and Yes, I have used copied software etc in the past so I am not playing the 'Holier than thou' card.

As to Sony having allowed Credit Card details to be stolen, do NOT talk about suing them as it is total pants to try that. What you should do Immediately though is send them an E-Mail telling them it has come to your attention that Credit Card and personal information is now circulating the internet (do not say yours specifically). Ask them to confirm whether this is correct or not.

They are oblidged to tell you the truth and make sure you keeo their reply as you can use that in a court of law at a later stage if needed.

If you Really want to try and put the boot in (regardless of if it gets confirmed by Sony or others that CC details are floating about) you can try to put in a claim for stress, and claim that Sony did nothing to reassure you of the state of your personal information which they held, and judging from even the official Sony sites, they truly are trying to keep people in the dark.

It's obviously too late for Sega. They're making games on everyone else's consoles now.

Anyway this is extremely annoying because I updated my PS3 to play all my awesome online exclusive titles like Demon's Souls and MAG, and now there's no PSN so why bother? I should have just stayed on CFW and pirated to my heart's content like a self-entitled manchild.

I like how they took the PSN down right when Portal 2 was released, so that everyone who expected to play Portal 2 online with their friends can't do that now. Oh, well, at least the PS3 version comes with a code that lets you download the PC version for free, as long as you link your PSN and Steam account- OH WAIT THE PSN IS DOWN SO YOU CAN'T DO THAT. Since the PSN is down, people can't play this newly-released, big-name title with its boasted co-op mode and they can't even get the PC version they were promised to make up for it. What a double whammy of Sony incompetence.

I just love all of the butthurt $ony fanboys webwide crying about evil hackers and devs. I am of the opinion that at the end of the day it is up to $ony to secure our personal info. I agree with gunnery Sgt. Hartman my senior drill instructor who hates an unlocked foot locker. If it wasn't for *******s like that there wouldn't be any thievery now would there. I guess the unhackable box wasn't so unhackable after all. I have lost a TON of respect for $ony out of all of this for several reasons. They have failed over and over and just when I think it can't get any worse, here comes my credit card info hanging in the breeze because of their idiocy. The original assessment of $ony's competence was correct:

FAIL

If that were the case then why are the dev networks still being exploited? More rumors. Also I read Math's rumors and can this guy stop talking out of his arse. I'm sure rebug is being fixed so dev networks will be shut down for rebug users (which is a good thing and I've been waiting for that to happen) but it does not take 5 days to put a stop to that, and it wouldn't have required PSN being shut down for more than a standard maintenance period.

Well... I guess people are looking past the obvious. Just give us OtherOS back again, and all of this sh*t will stop. They can't possibly be that naive. If they are, then shame on them.
