my 60 Gb still tries to eject a disc that is not in the drive at shutdown...could you explain that Rips?

I take it your holding down the power button for more than 5 seconds.?.
and its not a normal shutdown

Also another little update.

Please make sure you all back-up all of your data before doing any testing on this as it can crash your system and wipe out the HDD datebase structure.
This isn't such a bad thing for us when testing and trying to get to places we shouldn't be able to.
But its no fun when all your games/Movies and music gets wiped.
(over 40 gig of data in my case).

yeah same for me on my 60gb, sometimes my wallpaper gets wiped
,but if you hold down the eject button for 10 seconds, (without a disc inside) the blue light will flash and the system will try to eject for about 5 seconds ,then the light will still flash for 5 seconds, after that the system will return to normal.

My message what that the Boot Database was corrupted and it had to be rebuilt. But it could never rebuild itself.
Each time it tried it would just freeze.
The error is not actually caused by this method but more of me just being impatient while trying this method.
DUring the shut down process I was using the off switch at the back to force a shut down (trying to save a few seconds).
Well if you do it enough times it will eventually get corrupted.

Nothing major for me just a pain in the arse.

Boot database corruption? from a computing standpoint thats pretty major, i also noticed ur using fw 2.10, (please correct me if im wrong) i presume ur using a 60gb console? im still on fw 2.00 so on your end your update might be causing the problem (maybe), rips are you also using an american model? ( P.S if u you can get a screenshot of the error, please do)
