Unhappy Rebug otheros error

Hi,

Have installed rebug otheros and trying to install linux on external usb hd.
Am following gitbrew video instructions.

I am so far that i have petitboot, but after running "./initimg.sh /auto" I get following error...

Guess it has something to do with variables in the script which need adjusting for usb hd?

mkdir: can't create directory '/tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1': File exists
mv: can't create '/tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1/debian_ps3_netinst.iso': Read-only file system
debian_ps3_netinst.iso moved to /tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1
Unmounting /dev/ps3vflashh1 and /dev/ps3vflashh3
umount: /dev/loop0: not mounted
umount: /dev/loop1: not mounted
umount: /dev/loop2: not mounted

And this is my drive overview (I think my external hd is SDA1):

Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
tmpfs 111.9M 40.0K 111.9M 0% /tmp
udev 111.9M 164.0K 111.8M 0% /dev
/dev/ps3vflashd 15.9M 524.0K 15.4M 3% /tmp/petitboot/mnt/ps3vflashd
/dev/ps3vflashc 199.6M 185.6M 14.0M 93% /tmp/petitboot/mnt/ps3vflashc
/dev/ps3vflashe 472.0K 0 472.0K 0% /tmp/petitboot/mnt/ps3vflashe
/dev/ps3dc 2.0G 32.0K 2.0G 0% /tmp/petitboot/mnt/ps3dc
/dev/sr0 5.8G 5.8G 0 100% /tmp/petitboot/mnt/sr0
/dev/sda1 146.7G 187.6M 139.0G 0% /tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1

Anyone can help a linux noob?

Same thing for me. CECHH fat ps3 16mbnor. Read-only file system enabled. chmod can't change it. I think the same thing happened to me when using glevand's tools also.

I have a ps3 slim.

Before I used my internal hd with the gitbrew video, and everything worked OK.

Now I wanted to try rebug otheros with an external usb hd..

ps: ok had a reply from cyberskunk. Seems the initimg.sh from gitbrew always tries to format internal hd. I have to burn linux iso and start from here and select external hd during setup.

Thanks

Looking at your partition table: where is your ps3vflashh partition ?

Don;t know how it works with rebug OtherOS++ and using the scripts but the ps3vflashh has to be the partition you have to use.

If you have formatted your drive maybe try to run create_vflash7 again?

i had the same problem for 4 days.you need to run create_hdd_region.sh
Select "exit to shell" from Petitboot
1. cd /tmp/
2. wget tinyurl.com/createhdd
3. chmod a+x create_hdd_region.sh
4. ./create_hdd_region.sh auto

REBOOT PS3 AFTER STEP 4 COMPLETES
5. cd /tmp/
6. wget tinyurl.com/initimg
7. chmod a+x initimg.sh
8. ./initimg.sh auto
fyi if you are have a usb stick plugged in remove it before doing this to avoid file permission errors
if using otheros++22gb mark the 20gb partion as root and 2g as swap
you don't need a boot partion so when the installer ask contnue without boot partion
you already have a boot partion at this point that being petitboot.
good luck
