the main reason why no one is able to build a Custom Firmware from 3.56+ pup is this: Sony patched the ECDSA and made the chain of thrust more efficent. now we are not able to find the new keys with the old method. after that there are some thing that sony also patched, like the tar: all *.TARs have a new header (i don' remember if it was the header or something else) so if you are using old tools, you will able to open them, but when you will recompress them you will make a "bad tar" for your ps3 if you want to understand a lot of things, read this article http://www.neowin.net/news/the-turbu...-playstation-3 yes i will add more infos to the CoreOS paragraph.. swizzy you can extract the coreOS for 3.65 that is not a problem the problem is signing the files, since ECDSA is not broken anymore, you can't sign it, it won't install, and finding keys is impossible that is why no one can build custom firmwares.
that is why everytime i see someone saying they have a 3.61CFW i just laugh my ass off.

Thanks Pockets69 and deroad for the information
now i see the reason why and also the reason why i wanted to extract it was because so if there was a lv2diag.self inside 3.65 so that way i'll have the required files for a 3.65 qa flag enabled.

about the exploit: probably that exploit has been patched. if not, maybe that is useless, like geohot's memory glitch. |

so if no more cfws are being made no more (because the lack of couple of devs not interested) will qa flag be the next in line of a some what semi-cfw for the rest of the lastest ofw?

qa will port just piracy..
i think that the devs just needs to relase a LVDIAG.SELF signed with 3.56/3.60/3.61/3.65/.. to let people to downgrade without an external nor/nand programmer. This does not mean that ps devs have the new keys. Last edited by deroad; 06-14-2011 at 05:47 PM. |
