I got around to an interesting article on gamespot about the PS Vita. During E3 the PS Vita seemed to have many app icons including Skype. Skype is a pretty popular program which lets you make standard phone calls for free and for a fee if you wish to call a real phone number. Here's a quote:

Given that the original PSP supported Skype, it would stand to reason that Sony would want to continue offering that functionality to its users. Further, when Microsoft purchased Skype, it said it would continue to "invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms," which could potentially include the Vita.

Hmm... well Microsoft now owns Skype and Skype is going to be on PlayStation Vita?

so im guessing we can confirm that no inbuilt call system even though we will have a simcard slot ??? UNLESS we get skype ???
